Eid ADHa in OMaN - FiNaL

Some of activities that they did here:

• Went to Muscat, the capital of Oman. Stop to Mutrah Souq for shopping. Sempat laa pegi sana 2 kali sbb some of my family members x abis2 lagi shopping beli barang utk yg x datang sini. So laaa baik hati. Hehhehe... Macam2 laa laa diaorg ni grab. Tongkat, frame, key chains, shawl and kain. ( chiffon adalah murah yg kat sini, apa lagi kaum hawa, x ingat dunia beli kain buat balik)

• Sempat pegi Sink Hole utk aksi "Omanwood". Aksi2 tak de laa yang melampau memandangkang ramai sangat orang kat situ. Yang lain2 tu amat laa teruja tgk pokok kurma. Sempat laa diaorg beraksi "Omanwood" dibawah pokok kurma yang x berbuah.

• Pegi beraya rumah orang Oman, makan makanan orang umah di Hari Raya Haji. Makan traditional food diaorg, Nasi Qabuli dan Laham. Tak de lauk lain, hanya laa nasi, sayur yang mentah dan daging kambing rebus. Tak de kuah okey but semua orang heran x tercekik plak bila makan. Makan laa beramai2 didalam satu talam.

• Pegi bershopping kat TSC Wholesale Centre. Nak tahu pegi borong apa? Pegi borong juice. Hahahha... lawak tul laa my family ni. Ewah.. ewah.. juice bukan sebarangan tau. Juice kat sini the best weh!!! Pure, thick and uhhhh so laa cedap!! Strawberry, Mango, Oren, Guava, name it!! Luggage berat sbb berat botol juice jer laa. Then tak lupa jgk my aunty beli beras basmati bwk balik Msia. Helllo... x de kerr kat Msia beras basmati? Ader tu ader.. but still tak sama cam kat sini. Of course laa kat sini lagi sedap!!!

• My uncle and my lil cousin sempat lagi mandi laut kat blkg rumah I tau. Wahhh... the next day sempat pegi jogging2 lagi. Bleh buat semua ni kat Msia? Maner ader masa beb!!!
  

• Buat BBQ di malam raya. Bleh? Penah korang buat? Kitaorang first time ni buat cam ni. Tak dibuat orang weh!! Sotong is the best... 3 ekor yang besar tu cost RO1. Fishs are so fresh and of course cheap.

After a week they were here, pepagi buta after subuh on Sunday, 29 Nov. Kitaorang bertolak dr Sur to the airport. Flight diaorg was at 10.30am then naik check in harus laa pegi awal kan coz the journey from Sur to Muscat is 2 1/2 hours. My big bro drove my car and pelajar saya drove the rented car. Mana laa muat kan satu kete. Sesampai jer kat airport, kalut pegi ambik beg2 kat rumah my dad's house. How lucky we were at the time coz we knew somebody that is working at the airport. He was helping us in checking all the bags.

Yang lawaknya ramai laa plak nak membantu termasuk laa orang2 yang keje kat embassy. Thanks to Dato' and Datin yang banyak membantu. On the other hand, my dad's friend org kuat kat airport pun byk tolong. Imagine laa 15 bags with 10 people. Excess se excessnya laaa. Dengen beras nyer, dengan botol2 juice nyerr.. macam laa diaorg ni bawak balik Msia. And also some of my things.... hehehhe, kena mention nanti x pasal2 diaorg bengang buang barang2 I nanti. Tak dinafikan banyak jgk my things diaorang dah bawak balik. Baju2 yang dah x nak pakai, kasut2 yang dibeli utk masa depan, brg2 rumah utk masa depan... Waduh, semuanya for the future... jangan main2!!

Alhamdulillah diatas pertolongan dr semua pihak, barang2 dapat di check in dgn selamatnya without any cost.

Dan skrg ni I nak bongkarkan rahsia... jeng.. jeng..jeng....


Dan..... I pun dgn menyibuk skali balik ke Msia bersama2 dgn diaorg. Hahahha... ni rahsia dah terbongkar. Yeah.. yeah I know it was only 4 days including a day of journey. Tapi i dont care, I need to go back. Got important thing need to settle. Jangan mare yer pada semua orang yg dah tahu I balik ni sbbnya I memang balik sekejap jer. Sessi jumpa2 sanak saudara x sempat langsung.

Lawaknya lagi, we went back different flight. My family took Emirates Airlines and I took Gulf Air. Sebabnya, Emirates amat laa mahal tiketnya dan fully booked!! Gulf Air jer yg ada, so nak tak nak ambik jer laaa. Janji bleh balik. They transit in Dubai for almost 24 hours and I only transit in Bahrain for 4 hours. Jawabnya, I yang sampai Msia in the morning and they arrived at night. So I laa kena jemput diaorg kat airport, oo no at KL Central sbb diaorg ambik train.


My holiday was so great. Alhamdulillah.. Balik Msia for 3-4 days, is like a dream. Baru jer nak adjust time kat Msia, dah nak balik semula kat Oman. This year jer, balik Msia dah 4 kali... Ohhh duit2 banyak dah melayang kat tiket but its okey, at least I make my family happy. I try my best to see them as frequent as possible. Duit kan bleh carik... Allah Kareem, for sure Dia akan bagi rezeki kat hambaNya yang berhati ikhlas. Amin...

Eid ADHa in OMaN - Part 1

This was the second year, I celebrated Eid Adha in Oman.

First year was last year celebrated with Malaysian friends and also his family. Sempat laa jugak pegi rumah orang oman makan "laham"- daging kambing dan jugak nasik abuli. Mmmmm... yummy.. yummy. Thanks to my dad's friend (orang Oman) yang invite kitaorg pegi rumah dia makan nasi Qabuli bersama laham sampai kekenyang. Alhamdulillah.

Eid Adha this year lagi meriah, bertambah2 meriah coz my parent, my sis, my bro's family and my aunt's family were here. They arrived here 3 days before Eid Adha and they really enjoyed the new experience celebrated their Eid in Oman. Even just a week they were here but I do believed they really happy.

Of course, time was so limited sbb just a week. So many things in mind to bring them here and there but tak kesampaian. But at least tertunai jugak hasrat diaorang nak beraya kat sini kan?

Night before Eid, buat BBQ kat belakang rumah. Dengan angin yang sepoi2 bahasa, kami bergumbira di tepi laut berBBQ dgn ikan yg fresh, sotong yg amat laa besar and daging kambing. Belom lagi qurban dah beli daging buat BBQ a night before. Bleh?

My brother was so excited to do BBQ sbb dia amat laa teruja tgk ikan2 yg fresh di fish market. Then sotong yg amat laa besar skali. Like he said " rasa sotong ni macam rasa daging ayam". Bleh? ader keee cam tu. But really sotong tu memang cedap skali.


First time buat BBQ di mlm raya aji. Bleh? Tak penah dibuat orang!!! Tapi kan, orang Oman buat BBQ tau di hari raya but of course not malam raya laa. Diaorg buat BBQ after the second raya.

Bila dah first round siap dibakar, semua org x ingat dunia makan. Look my dad and my uncle, siap pakai winter cap tu. Maklum laa sejuk tau, mlm2 buta kat tepi laut.

Tengok tu satu besen tu marinate daging, sotong and ikan. Sampai ke pagi besok di pagi raya makan lai BBQ tu. Tu laa masa beli tu x ingat dunia. Nampak cam skit jerr, bila dah bakar.. ambik .. sampai terlarat2 nak makan.


Yang keping putih2 tu adalah sotong. Besar kan? Dah laa besar, rasa cam daging ayam.. Ohhh no bro, sampai cam tu skali komen awak yer???

Qurban Meat..

Kan Raya kat sini hari Selasa.. so hari selasa laa menyambut raya. Hari tu jer, kalut duk masak sbb nak kasi makanan kat orang and around 11 am ader invitation jiran sebelah. Orang Msia, my colleague jgk, wife dia masak nasi impit and kuah kacang. Mmm.. yummy, at least ada laa suasana di hari raya kan?

Then my students I called nak kasi daging Qurban.. haaa.. ambik kau!!! Sebelah peha kambing dia bagi. Ya Allah.. amat laa terkejut I okey. Tak penah ku makan atau dapat peha kambing before this tau!! Kat sini Qurban kambing or unta. Most of the people slaughtered goat and to those are rich, they will slaughter UNTA. Hehhhehhe.. No daging tu, I divided into 3 laa bahagikan sama rata dgn my other friends. Susah tu nak potong.. kerasss sangat tulang tu, nasib laa my friend ader pisau yang BAPAK nyerr besouuu okey!!

Yang peliknya, kalau kat Msia, I never eat mutton.. x suka. Kalau makan sure migrain terus. Then kambing kat Msia bau2.. tul tak? Tapi kan.. daging kambing kat sini x bau ... macam daging lembu. Serious.. so makan laa i daging kambing kat sini dgn berimaginekan daging lembu laa slalu. Daging kambing lagi bagus dr daging lembu okey.. (Tul kan???)

Even kat restaurant2 kat sini pun susah sebenarnya nak carik daging lembu tapi kalau mutton.. merata2 ader. Datang laa sini kalau tak percaya!!

Then in the afternoon, I went to my dad's friends house. He is Omani and he invited my friends and me to have traditional lunch with his family. The journey to his mum's house was nearly 2 hours but I considered worth it coz we ate very delicious food there. Tahu tak, hidangan hari raya diaorang adalah Nasi "Qubuli" and daging Qurban. Nasi tu macam nasi minyak tp x berminyak.. sedap sangat!! Kalau makan nasi jerr pun dah cetap okey. Then dgn daging rebus jer!! I repeat.. only daging rebus!! Daging tu rebus dgn halia, bawang putih and garam jer. Siap tanya resipi dgn tuan rumah lagi. Tapi sedap laa sangat. Pelik kan?? Then dgn salad ( raw veggies) . Thats all!!

Since I was here I started to love this food especially Omani Qubuli ni. Nanti nak blajar laa resipi nak buat nasi ni. Then jemput you all makan2 kan? Hehheheh... Tapi x brani laa nak makan nasi ni banyak2 nanti my weight scale berputar x nak stop kang. Scary laa weh!!

Imagine laa kita buat 3 menu ni jerr utk majlis2 cam ni ( nasi, daging rebus and salad) jerr. Guna resipi diaorg ni.. sure our guests akan ckp kita kedekut kan. Why not I buat ini menu utk my wedding?? Hahhaha... sure akak2.. pakcik2.. makcik2 balik ckp I kedekut kan? But then kalau fikir balik.. its good you know.. x de laa membazir and memang menu sihat. Yang paling I suka, nasi - guna beras basmati and kurang minyak ( i like it ). Pasal wedding menu tu actually, my colleague yang bg suggestion suruh I buat cam tu. Amboi korang bg suggestion baik punya... nanti korang jgk yg dtg majlis I then kutuk2.. Tak suka.

Tak pe laa.. nanti bila tiba masanya you all tahu laa apa menunya. X yah nak pikir2 lagi.. Ntah bila majlisnya pun x tahu... ( elloooo.. ni dah terkluar topic ni... )

At nite again, my friend called nak kasi daging lagi. Dia kasi tulang2 tu.. again divided into 3. Adil kan?? The late at nite.. ader lagi students bagi seketul besar daging BBQ. Ya Allah.. rezeki tul hari ni..x putus2 dapat daging kambing. Alhamdulillah...

A day after, ader tetamu dtg kat umah satu family.. nasib laa kan. I masak sup tulang yg dapat tu, if not x tahu laa bila I nak abiskan tulang2 tu. Thank God!! Abis jgk half of the meat yg kat dlm fridge tu. Best tau.. yg bahagian2 tulang tu dibuat sup. Sup kambing you, kat Msia sure mahal tu kat mamak2 kan.

How lucky I am right? Tapi x de laa makan bebonar...

* daging2 yg lain, I x ambik gamba laa sbb x sempat. Yang ni sbb besau sangat kan... Tu yg jd sempat.

Eid Eve

Guess what I did just now.. I baked and I cooked. Memang laaa .. mengalahkan orang sambut raya kat Msia kan? Tu laaa... kat sini lagi meriah on Eid Eve ( for me: alone?) Yeah right!!... Even my mum in Msia also x not prepare any special food for this eid. If Im in Msia right now for sure I will do sometime for them.. pity them :(( Actually, I baked these to give some to my Omani friend here... thats the reason Im so into cooking and baking today!

Im done with Oreo Cake ( 2 Oreo Cakes)... Mmmmm yummy.. yummy.. I love oreo cake. Last time I made when I was back in Msia last summer. Told you previously... I baked several times.. I posted the recipe. Did u try it? Mmmm... last time was oreo cupcakes. The recipe is still the same folks!!! This time I didnt use cake mixer ( x have it here) and I used ONLY FORK okey to replace the mixer. Terrror tak I? Hhehehe.. Jadi okey.. sangat laa jadi. Rasanya sama.. People, dont give reason not to try this recipe coz its easy and you also can do it by yourself. Trust me okey...

Lets look at what I have it here..

1 1/2 cups of butter + 3/4 cups vege oil + 1/2 cups sugar + 3/4 small t/spoon of salt

2 cups of flour + 1/2 small t/spoon of baking powder

Lastly.. add Oreo biscuits as many as u want. I put a whole box.. so yummy and yummy.

Ready to bake

Halazzzz.... there you go.. crunchy on the top.

Look at the Oreo.. crunch.. crunch..

Something abt me.. I would say its kinda weird.. when I bake or cook.. I will feel full after Im done and I hardly eat what I cook. My hunger is gone while Im cooking and baking.. but still never ever loss any kilos.. :((

I baked meat macaroni and prawn macaroni. Was planning to make chicken macaroni but I couldn't find minced chicken.. so change the recipe to meat macaroni. Come closer people... wanna show u my Baked Macaroni:

Diced Onion + Minced meat

Kurma spices + Curry spices

Diced Capsicum

Add Macaroni..

Taraa... ready to bake.. pour with egg ( need many eggs.. I used 6 eggs for this big container) and a little bit of flour.. Dont forget after u fried the macaroni wait till it cold and then mix that with eggs.

See, how many container I got.. 6 .. its 6 people!!! 3 meat macaroni and 2 prawn macaroni

EiD MuBaRaK

Guess what, I will celebrating Eid Adha on Tuesday here unlike in Malaysia and other part of the world which is on Monday (tomorrow). tsk..tsk..tsk..

Called home and talked to my mum, dad and my lil sis just now. I spent almost 3 hours chatting with them. It started with laughing and ended nearly to shed my tears. Yeah.. this Eid Adha, will be the most quite Eid for them. There will be three of them celebrating Eid tomorrow at home. I feel so sad.. really I do.

Was planning to bake and cook some food but still undecided. In my mind got so many things that I wanna make for this Eid here unfortunately something turned me down.

Well, wishing all of you Eid Mubarak. May this holy days bring us joy and blessing to you and me. Enjoy the holiday too :)) I got my holiday till this Friday and will be back to work on Saturday.

Looking forward to experience the new things during this Eid Adha here.. new food, new culture with people around. Insyaallah..

CouNTiNG DaYS To Go Back For EiD

Till now I still do not have any clue when is the Eid holiday here. Thats is Oman.. the holiday will be announced last minute .. its happened all the time here. Its hard for me to plan for my Eid holiday. But I dont care people, I already bought my ticket to go back for Eid. Ssssshhh... ni kena pakat dgn students ni bila x datang kelas.

Today I did asked some of my students.. ramai yg x nak dtg next week even holiday lom lagi announce. Dalam ati...ouuuuhhh selamat!!

Insyaallah will be back to Msia for a week and will be back again ;((. X kisah laa brapa hari janji dapat jgk balik beraya kat sana. If not for sure will be crying here non-stop for a week.

Im counting days now to go back.. Cant wait to :

• eat my mum's cooking
• to listen to lagu2 raya ( kat sini pun duk dgr gak but me so emotional.. asyik mengalir airmata jerr.. amat laa x rock skali)
• nak g pasar ramadhan
• nak makan kueh mueh sbb sepanjang Ramadhan ni duk makan masakan sdiri jer
• nak borak2.. nak gelak2.. nak bergila2 gilaan dgn my sisters
• want to meet you bebeh lil bro.. I miss you ( make you you brought smtg for me fr there okey bebeh ;))
• to hug my beloved mum and my dad ( miss them so much)
• nak makan biskut tart
• nak berbuka ramai2 satu family
  
• nak balik KB beraya bersama2 sanak saudara
• nak tgk my new nephew.. ala bucuk2
  

Thats all folks!! This week memang dah x bleh nak concentrate dah mengajar.. Asyik duk teringat nak balik Malaysia dah...

Im lucky to got a ticket to go back.. The ticket cost less than RM3000 compared during the summer holiday. Surprising other airlines ader yg full.. gilo ko apo?? Ramai tul laa Msians kat Middle East ni nak balik beraya yer.. Musykil..musykil
