One Week Before Eid

Apa yg tak dijangka, hari ni iaitu ari Sabtu, kanak2 unta sudah x datang class.

Bayangkan, ari ni diaorang dah start x de class. If on tuesday or wednesday tu kira bleh ditrima lagi, ni Saturday. Apa nak jd dgn korang ni wahai anak2 untaku?

Pepagi ni ada class at 8.00 am. Hanya 4 orang jer yg datang, tu pun just to write their name. Bagus.. amat la bagus skali!!!

Then class at 11.00 am. Lagi bagus sbb hanya seorang jer duk tunggu nak tulis nama for the attendance.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... tidak kanak2 unta are killing me. Cuba laa cakap awal2 x nak datang. At least lecturer pun bleh book tiket balik Msia and cabut awal2.

Ikutkan nak tukar tarikh balik, a day earlier fr the original date but still havent confirm. Masalah betul... part student dah ok, part tiket plak yg x ok. Dugaan... dugaan...

Cuba laa kat Msia, bleh buat cam ni? Sesuka ati jer ambik holiday for a week before raya?

Tadi ada laa 5..6 orang students datang kat bilik

" Miss, we cannot come today to your class, we want to go back to the village"

" Miss, Eid Mubarak.. see u after Eid. No absent plz Miss"

" Miss, sorry cannot come to the class this week. We are very bz preparing for our Eid".

Poning.. poning!! Really poning!!!

Akhir kata, suka ati korang laa. Suruh datang pun korang declare holiday sdiri.

P/s: Praying hard for the ticket , so that can go back home early.

NeW SeMeSTeR

After i did my summer semester here, felt so exhausted!! With the heat and ofo course the attitude of kanak2 unta during the summer course. Alhamdulillah, got at least 2 weeks to go back to Msia. Such a short time... one week got sick (fever, cough, flu and NOT influenza) and one week to go out for eating out, shopping, dating, etc

New semester began on the 1st Ramadhan. As expected, in the first week kanak2 unta came to the college only to register their new subjects and not to the class. But for us, lecturers need to go to the class for 15 min and if no students then we can leave the class.

As always, lecturer yg slalu berkobar2 nak pegi class. Di malam hari, dah bz iron baju and study preparing for the lectures. Tp for 1 and 2 week, jgn harap laa ada students datang.

Till now, the 3rd week of semester yg datang x sampai 1/2 of the class. Its really not worth it!! Tunggu laa this saturday, a week before Eid for sure kanak2 unta ni x datang class. Kononnya bz balik kampung and nak prepare utk Raya. Macam laa kat Msia, x de bas nak balik kg. Padahal kg2 diaorg ni hanyalah 2..3 jam dr college. Sangat laa x patut!!!

Many of the private colleges and universities here closed and will begin the semester after Eid. All of the schools are closed too. Reasonnya H1N1... Been praying so hard, hope the college is also close unfortunately till now x de apa pun. If not bleh jgk balik berpuasa lama skit di Msia. Hampa... amat menghampakan!!


Again, this semester memang pening and of course so many problems arise:

• students timetable is clash with our timetable
• new staff didnt come yet, and we need to take some of their classes
• Ramadhan time, all lectures 4-6 are cancel. Nice!!! - all the classes end at 2 ( bagusnya kan kat sini) kat Msia ader cam tu? so yg mana ader class 4-6 sepanjang Ramadhan lepak jerr laa kat rumah. You are lucky people!!!
• 1 hour class become 45 min only.
• Class back to back : exhausted!! even 45 min/ class - 4 hours in a row. Sengsara!!

Even byk problem arise di bulan Ramadhan ni, ader jgk advantage nyerr pd lecturer:

• paling lewat blk umah kul 3, tu pun sbb ader meeting
• balik rumah: after zohor adalah masa utk beristirehat
  
• iftar kul 6.30. kul 6 sempat lg nak masak- masak ker? Well, mkn jerr laa apa yg patut.
  
• solat terawih: kul 8 dah beres!!

" Miss, you were in my dream. Really love u Miss"

Wah? biar betul kanak2 unta ini.. sesuka ati jer cakap mcm tu. Most of them are boys. Oooooooo... adakah mereke mengerti apa yg mereka ungkapkan?

" Miss, why I got D in your subject? You hate me?"
" Miss, thank you.. thank you.. love you. I got B-"
" Mafi Adil Miss.. why I got F? I answered everything Miss"

Tak kurangnya, ada yg memuji dan ada yg membenci. Aduhai kanak2 unta sekalian, "kulu anta anti make me sudah" - really make me headache.

Di zaman skrg ni, bukannya students takut lecturer tp lecturer takut students. Apakah???
Lecturer plak yg berpeluh2 nak menjawab persoalan2 memang x bleh dijawab. Even dijawab pun memang diaorg ni x bleh trima. So how???

Ignored!!!! Susah.. amat laa susah nak ignore and of course cant run away from these problems.

At last, say these words "Allah Kareem"... case closed!!

Shopping for Tamar

Last summer holiday I brought some boxes of fresh tamar from here. Some are red and some are yellow. Really fresh from trees!! Even I got a long flight almost 7 hours from Oman to Malaysia but all the Tamar were still in very good condition and fresh.

The people here like to eat Tamar that is half ripe and its called 'Ratap'. I am not sure the right spelling of this. But the sound like that. When I brought back home some of the 'ratap' my family was so excited with that. Yeah, this was the first time we ate the fresh tamar from tree. Usually just bought from the market and the best one in Malaysia is Yusof Taiyop. Am I right? Hehhehe..

Well, this time for the Eid holiday, Insyaallah will bring back home some of the fresh tamar from here. Early in the morning today went to market to buy tamar and I am looking for the tamar and wanted to buy the tamar in the bunch. Guess what it is so expensive.. RO4 for a bunch of that compared to last week we asked it was only RO1-2 only. Today I bring my camera to take a picture of the market here and may be the sellers think that we are foreigners and visitor and there is possibility the giving us the high price. Menyampah tau!!!

I changed my mind not to buy now and wanted to wait 2..3 days before I am leaving. Insyaallah will find a good one later.

Car Hunting

After came back from the meeting last time which was after first day of Ramadhan, I started to think about buying a car. My initial plan was buying the car after Eid but after meeting some of the people there they advised me to buy during Ramadhan time. According to them, this is going to be a great time to buy because the offer so many things.

So I take this opportunity to do car hunting. I been doing car hunting with my friend almost every nite after terawih prayer. Maklum laa x de keje seem the classes havent start yet.

Yang bagusnya kat sini all the cars showroom will close late at night. Some of the showrooms close at 12.30 am. Pelik betul kan kat sini?? Kat Msia mana ader kan?? Lagi lewat lagi ramai rupanya customer yg dtg nak beli keta. Yang herannya, ramai plak manusia yg nak beli keta musim Ramadhan ni. Kalau kita kat Msia, semua org duk kalut beli baju raya laa, kad raya laa, biskut raya laa..lain plaknya kat sini. Orang kalut2 nak beli kete... Dashyat tul diaorg ni

Compared to Malaysia, its worth to buy a car here coz its so cheap. Kete kat sini murah sbbnya tax free. Half of our price. Ikutkan nak buat balik jer kete kat Msia.. tapi tu laa kat sini left handed and kat sana nanti susah plak nak bayar parking and nak bayar tol.

I guess my friends and I went to all of the showrooms around including Toyota, Honda, Daihatsu, Mazda, Peugeot, Nissan etc. Susah jugak nak buat keputusan nak beli kete ni.. Ingatkan senang ker.. dgn duit nyer kekeringan skrg ni. Maklum laa duit dah banyak diabiskan masa balik summer that day.

Tau tak org kat sini memang minat Toyota jer.. kete2 lain diaorg ni kureng skit.

Tapi musim Ramadhan ni memang byk betul offer. Imagine

• Loan till up 80% / 100% pun ader

No wonder laa ramai manusia pergi tgk kete. Rata2 kat showroom ader customer. But of most of the customer for sure pakai dishdas (jubah) putih la. Means that semuanya lelaki. Pompuan? Kitaorg berdua jerr pompuan ... hahahha. Tu dah biasa laa tu kan

My plan is sharing the car with my friend.. means that 50% share for each in everything. Yelah I will be with her all the time and as well as her. X de makna nya nak membazir duit nak beli 2 keta right? Ke mana saja kitaorg pegi for sure akan pergi berdua.. never ever go alone.

It took times for us to think with all of the offers. Seriously.. bagus sangat. Sampai nak buat decision pun susah. Mula mula tu nak beli 4 wheel sbb senang nak travel jauh2 kan .. then nak beli sedan/ saloon car jer sbb x nak spent byk sgt. Lagipun everyone of us x sure pun nak duk sini brapa lama. Keta kecik2 pun dah cukup utk ulang alik pegi keje.

Menu for Ramadhan

This is going to be the second time I'm abroad during Ramadhan. The first time was went I studied in US. I didnt feel the Ramadhan that much because I was bz with classes. Still remember, by time I reached home at 3pm , it was nearly breaking fast sbb masa tu winter. So pose pun x rasa sangat. Balik kejap jer.. masak2 apa yg patut then terus time nak berbuka. Tak rasa sangat "kehangatan" Ramadhan. I celebrated Eid there too.. Sayu jer.. pepagi buta dah nak kalut carik phone nak call Malaysia. Pas tu borak2 mintak ampun maaf dr keluarga sambil sebak x bleh nak cakap. Sedih laaa.. kan x bleh balik Raya.

So now kat sini plak.. Tapi Insyaallah Raya pasti ku balik Malaysia. Sudah ku x sanggup lagi kat sini sorang2. Dah laa bulan Ramadhan ni x rasa gak cam Msia. I dont know why.. May be it just my feeling..

Actually, pose kat sini not so bad beside I'm alone ( well not 'alone..alone", got my friend along and a new prof. fr msia) but I do miss breaking fast with my mum's cooking. Really... even dulu masa kat sana x de laa slalu berbuka kat rumah but still I miss that. Sabar.. sabar.. ni dah nak start emo. dah ni.. control, air mata dah nak jatuh ni... standby...... puh!!!

Kalau kat umah dulu, it just 3 of us breaking fast together ( my dad, mum and me) and it was so dull.. makan pun cam x lalu jer. Tapi tiba jer ari minggu semua org balik umah berkumpul. Lauk pauk pun tetiba jd byk and yg special2 jer. Al maklum laa, semua org balik umah kan. Balik keje dulu ptg2 singgah pasar ramadhan dgn my colleague beli kuih muih then sampai umah tlg my mum masak apa yg patut. Ohhh tidak!!!! I missed those days...

Sekarang ni berbuka kat sini kenalah masak sdiri. Amatlah x berselera skali bila makan sorang2. I know before this kan since duk sini usually mkn sorang2 tapi tu lain sbb bukan bulan Ramadhan. So my friend and I decided breaking fast together.... at least berselera laa skit kan.

See, simple jerr berbuka kat sini. Kalau kat Msia for sure my menu need to be more than 3 dishes with kuih and muih yg beraneka. Tapi Alhamdulillah kat sini pun okey. Yang x okey nyer.. my friend and I slalu duk gaduh.. nasi x penah nak abis bila masak. Asyik terlebih jerr..Ni adalah masalah nak estimate.. No skill of estimation!! Hahahhah... x pe, baru ari ke 7, masuk ari ke 25 pandai laa kitaorg estimate nak masak nasi dgn lauk2.

Came back fr college at nearly 2 ++. Then merehatkan diri till 4++. At 5 mula laa kalut2 nak masak and kul 6 dah ready nak berbuka. Then after berbuka, solat maghrib and shower. Then isyak and terus terawih. After terawih, kluar rumah if not duk umah tgk tv or online. Tuan-tuan dan puan2 sekalian.. Tu laa routine I semenjak Ramadhan ni..

2nd Day of Ramadhan

I was in Muscat for the second day of Ramadhan sbbnya ader meeting. Our meeting started at 9 am and finished at 2pm. 9 am means 9.30 - 10.00. Biasa laa kan... time tu x brapa penting kat sini. Kalau kita rasa org Msia janji x tepat kat sini lagi laah.. 2x tak tepat.

This time our iftar ( berbuka pose) was at the hotel. Wah, kalau sebut berbuka kat otel for sure akan terpikir and terbayang makanan2 yg best2 kan. On the right corner, macam2 jenis kuih muih, on the left corner plak jenis2 buah-buahan and at the centre plak main dishes. See...see..meleleh dah air liur ku ini. Tu tak termasuk gerai2 yg kat tepi kan.. ader gerai mee rebus, mee sup... ada gerai goreng2.. Ya Allah.. puasa..puasa.. Apa ke jadah ni nak citer pasal makanan ni wey!!!!

Bilik kat Al Falaj Hotel

Actually nak citer iftar I kat otel sini. Ya Rabbi.. sabor jer laa. Suka sangat duk melalut ke lain. Orang otel cakap ader iftar nanti so Alhamdulillah.. Allah Kareem. Berbuka kat sini awal dlm kul 6.25 pm. Kul 6.15 turun laa kat restaurant tu. Jenguk2 dr luar cam x de orang jer.. biar betul x de org. Kena bayar sendiri ke tak ni? Patutnya dah termasuk skali. Tapi confident laa masuklah.. mata i dah menjeling2 dah carik makanan.. cam x nampak jerr. Tengok2.. wah byk nyer makanan. 3 plates for the dates and sweets, 1 plate for samosa, 1 plate for sandwiche, 1 plate for fruits and 1 big bowl for soup and bread. Banyak sekali kan? Kan? Kan?

Ohhhh tidak.. tapi syukur laa at least ader makanan jgk utk iftar compared to yesterday nak kena jalan redah2 carik restaurant nak beli makanan. Alhamdulillah...

Yang bestnya one of the Prof. fr Malaysia ajak pegi makan nasi arab after terawih. Wah.. best rasanya sbb td masa iftar x puas mkn.

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

After isyak kitaorg ( puak2 Msia) 2 kete pegi laa terawih kat masjid paling besar kat Oman ni Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Cantik masjid ni .. dah la besar sgt. Terpegun ku melihat keindahan masjid ni. Isyak kat sini 7.30 and kitaorg sampai kat masjid dah kul 8 pm. Bila sampai masjid terkial2 carik pintu utk bahagian pompuan... besar sgt masjid tu and masa sampai org dah solat terawih.. Kita pun ikutlah imam.. after 4 rakaat 2 x salam tetiba jer 3 rakaat. Tup2 dah witir.. ohh tidak.. x kan solat terawih kita org x cukup?? Hehehe.. Lawak tul. Ingatkan org kat sini buat 21 rakaat rupanya 8 jerr. X macam kita kat msia. Satu lagi I notice kat sini pompuan dia x ramai pegi solat terawih. I dont know why... may be pompuan2 solat kat umah jer kot. Ana pun solat kat umah gak ;))

Ni kat dlm masjid tu..cantik kan?

Lepas solat terawih 'kartun" tadi kitaorg pun pegi la restaurant nak mkn nasi arab. Prof. S memang baik ati blanja all of us makan malam tu. Kiranya cam makan utk sahur jgk laa sbb lepas makan sampai otel dah nak kul 12 dah. Cedapppp sgt nasi arab tu...serious. I makan lauk ayam and the others makan lauk kambing. Yg makan lauk kambing tu..mak oiii licin pinggan. Cam biasa laa satu plate tu bleh mkn 3 org weh.. mana laa akak nak abis makan. Kalau dekat2 dah tapau bwk balik umah dah. Hehehhhe

Ramadhan in Oman

Ura-ura kat Msia most probably pose on Monday and kat sini blum tentu lagi Monday or Tuesday. But then i dah niat dah nak pose ikut waktu Msia. Then malam tu tgk laa news Oman and they declared fasting will be on Tuesday kat sini. Well, seperti dah niat Monday my friend and I start pose and ari tu jugak laa kitaorg pegi Muscat coz the next day ade meeting kat sana.

Well, monday morning tu pegi college dulu buat apa2 keje yg patut and at 3 pm baru bertolak pegi Muscat dgn driver. Masa kat college tu, nampak ramai lagi duk makan2.. yela dah lum pose lagi kat sini kan. This time ramai laa plak lecturers2 dtg kat bilik utk say 'hi' and " welcome back to college". Yang lawaknya... bila dia org dtg utk say "hi" diaorg akan shake hand. Ada jugak dtg borak2 and citer2 pasal kisah diaorg and ader gak tetiba reveal their secrets. Mmmm... sejak bila plak bershake2 hand ni and trust my friend and I ni pasal secret diaorg.. Kepelikkan betul laa. So I buat laa kesimpulan laa.. this semester are musim bershake hand & merevealkan secret!! Hehheheheh

This time guna jln baru.. blum siap sepenuhnya lagi but then okey laa kan. Almost completed.. best jalan baru ni sbb lalu ikut laut. Luas pemandangan.. The journey was about 2 hours plus compared to the normal road 3 1/2 hours journey. Driver ni drive mak ooooi.. memautkan.. suka suka dia nak brek...suka suka dia nak ke kanan then ke kiri. Scary the mary you!! Almost 5 ++ sampai laa kat Muscat and check in Hotel Al-Falaj yg biasa kitaorg tinggal bila ader meeting kat sini. Suruh laa driver ni tunggu and bwk kitaorg pegi restaurant sbb nak bukak pose x de makanan kan and after check in dgn dia2 skali ilang ntah ke mana. Bertuah punya driver. So kitaorg jalan2 laa kat tepi hotel tu..jauh laa jgk nak cari restaurant. At last jumpa laa restaurant beli laa roti ayam 2 ketul yg kecik tu and popia seketul and my friend plak beli roti dgn kuah kacang merah. Makan laa kitaorg dlm bilik otel berdua.. so laa sedih 1st day pose kat sini.

Then at 9.30 we decided to go to Coffee House kat bwh otel carik makanan sbb x kenyang. I did order Vegetable Fried Rice. Tu pun yg paling murah and it cost me RO1.500 and my friend just take a cup of coffee. Siut jerr kan.. mahal yg amat mencekik darah!!! What to do.. dah itu jer yg ader. Tapi I bersyukur sbb at least sempurna jugak pose utk hari pertama kat sini. Alahmdulillah....
